This month’s Faves are:
- AirBake Cookie Sheets
- Almay Longwear & Waterproof Gentle Eye Makeup Remover
- Terro Liquid Ant Baits
When I think back to my early baking days and the struggle I had to get decent looking and tasting cookies I know exactly what the problem was. It wasn’t my ingredients. It wasn’t my stove. And it wasn’t the recipes … it was the baking sheets I was using! It’s so hard to believe that a baking sheet can make or break a recipe.
One year for Christmas I received a set of AirBake Cookie Sheets and I am not exaggerating when I say that my baking life changed instantly. I can honestly say that it’s very hard to ruin cookies now that I only use the AirBake Sheets. Some of the advantages I’ve noticed are: much more even baking, a LOT less burning (have I even burned a batch since having these?) and easy cleanup. Even when I use parchment paper with these cookie sheets I get perfect results. I am so in love with my AirBake pans that over the years I’ve bought a bunch more! Now I have various sizes in my cookie pan arsenal. If you love baking cookies but are not getting the results you want or expect I recommend switching over to these babies.
My second favorite product is Almay’s Longwear & Waterproof Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. I have a history of working with cosmetics, mostly high end and a few drug store brands but have been using drug store brands solely for the past 10 – 15 years. I’ve tried tons of different eye makeup removers and there are some really good ones out there. But recently I went through a stage where nothing would remove my waterproof mascara. I use Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara and love it. My mascara would not budge until I found this remover. Did I mention that you can get it for less than five bucks?! Just remember to shake it up before using.
Last favorite this month is Terro Liquid Ant Baits. Kinda weird but what are you gonna do when those little suckers come calling every Spring? Yep, like clockwork they show up in April or May and then I break out my Terro Baits and BAM! they’re gone. I love how they updated the packaging so that you don’t need to use scissors to open them anymore. That was the only thing I never liked but now they have a twist/snap off cap which is more convenient and sanitary.
These baits work great on what we call “piss ants”. Usually these ants are teeny tiny but my ants this year were a little bigger and I had them in more rooms than ever before. Part of that’s due to the fact that it seems like it’s been rainy for three straight months around here. I’ll put one of these baits in each spot we’ve seen ants and usually within a week they are gone. I have pets so I try to put them in places that the animals can’t get to them and I’ve never had any problems. I swear by these baits and that’s why they’re one of this month’s favorites!
