My Grandma Neiman made THE best hamburg barbecue ever! She always made a big pot of it on special occasions. I remember eating it on Christmas Eve when the whole family would gather at her house. We would eat supper then everyone would crowd into the living room and open gifts and finally we’d head off to candle light service. Such great memories.
My mom made good barbecue, too and that’s where this recipe comes from. I’m a fan of sweet hamburg barbecue so if you don’t this may not be for you but you can cut the sugar or add salt. This barbecue is so good that sometimes I don’t even eat it on a roll. It re-heats well and is especially good on potato chips the next day. Just sayin’.
