Bacon and Brown Sugar Wrapped Lit'l Smokies

These smokies are absolutely addictive!  They're so easy to make and go great with just about any other party food.  Line your baking pan with heavy duty aluminum foil to make cleanup super easy.  Choose a less fatty bacon to cut back on grease.  They turn out delicious with or without the broiler.  Enjoy

  • 12 oz Package Hillshire Farm Beef Lit'l Smokies
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar, packed
  • 16 oz Package Bacon

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Cut your entire package (cut the whole slab at one time) of bacon into 3 equal sections.  You will not use the entire package so keep any extra or fry it up while these are baking.  Dump your cup of packed brown sugar into a medium size mixing bowl.  Pull a couple smokies out of the package and roll them around in the brown sugar.  Take a piece of cut bacon and dunk it in the brown sugar allowing it to get a light coating on each side then roll one of your smokies in it.  Set in on your foil covered pan.  Repeat this process until all smokies are coated and wrapped.  Sprinkle any remaining brown sugar over each smokie.  Bake uncovered for 30 - 35 minutes.  You can give it a couple of minutes under the broiler for some added crisp but watch closely so they don't burn.  Remove from oven and allow to sit for 2 - 3 minutes then enjoy.
